Earlsmedic wins The NGK Spark Plugs Handicap
The Dr Fong gelding rattled up a hat-trick last season, including two wins at Newmarket last summer.

Trainer Stuart Williams feels there may be more to come from the chestnut, who was fifth of 16 at Ripon in mid-April on what was opening effort of the fresh campaign.

He said: “That was a pleasing return from Earlsmedic and I just hope that he is capable of getting into these big sprint handicaps over the coming months.

“Six furlongs is his optimum trip and he is proven on decent ground. His next run probably won’t be until the middle of May.”
